To help our customers install their Jabsco Ballast Puppy Pumps we have developed the guide below. Wiring a reversible pump must be done correctly so that the pump will run both in forward and reverse. This is done by reversing the polarity at the switch.
If you don't want to bother with figuring all of this out, consider picking up our Pre-wired Switch Connector for Reversible Pumps, which makes the install a plug-and-play process and will work with both Jabsco and Johnson flexible vane impeller pumps.

Hi Pat,
The rotation of a pump is dictated by the polarity at the switch. If a pump is spinning in the opposite direction you would like it to, pull off your cover plate on your ballast rocker switch, flip the switch block over, and place the cover plate back on and reinstall.
I purchased a Jabaco Ballast King to replace one of the Ballast Puppy pumps on our boat. The Ballast King pump operates the opposite rotation of the Ballast Puppy pumps, it fills when the switch is set to empty and empties when the switch is set fill. What is the recommended method to reverse the pump function.
