Maintenance
Please check your engine manufacturer's owner's manual for for the suggested interval for servicing your raw water pump impeller. It is a good rule of thumb to change the raw water pump on a yearly basis or when you reach the 100hr service interval, whichever comes first.
Why Change It?
This is a regular maintenance item that is used in order to keep the engine cool, failure of this part can lead to engine overheating codes or worse.
Keep a Spare
It is a good rule of thumb to keep the tools and parts on hand in the boat as a backup just in case you find yourself with an impeller failure. This is the simple, cheap part that can ruin a holiday weekend and having a spare will make you the real hero of the boating holiday.
