When it comes to an automated ballast system, safety is just as important as performance. That's why every automated ballast system needs to have a primary fuse that protects the boat and passengers from damage in the event of an electrical mishap. Sealed design is ideal for marine applications and prevents corrosion from occurring at the fuse contact points, which can lead to premature failure or additional current draw. Connects to stranded 16 gauge wire using crimp connectors (sold separately), or solder.
When To Use It
A fuse should be placed within 12" of the positive connection for the ballast system (usually the positive terminal of the battery) to limit the chance of damage or fire if a short circuit occurs. This inline fuse holder is designed to be connected directly to the end of the wire feeding current to the ballast system.
Note: Fuse is NOT included.
