Great punp
This thing is a beast. Replaced my Commercial Water Puppy on my Nautique 230 and now it fills up my rear hard tanks and piggyback sacks in the time it used to take to fill up just the hard tanks.

Johnson Pumps, a leader in the marine pump industry, designed the Talulah Ballast Pump with one singular goal in mind: to create the best reversible wakeboard ballast pump on the market.
But what does "the best" mean? For Johnson, it encompasses these key ideas:
Based on our experience with the Talulah Ballast Pump, Johnson has certainly succeeded. Whether for use in a new automated ballast system installation or to upgrade the pumps in an existing system for faster fill and drain times, the Talulah Ballast Pump delivers.
Johnson Talulah Reversible Ballast Pump Features
Johnson Talulah Pumps feature a durable orange urethane impeller which delivers faster fill/drain times and it's longer lasting than the previous models. A built-in run dry system gives you all the extra insurance you need if you ever forget to turn your pump off by protecting the motor unit from damage.

Replacement Impeller: The direct replacement ballast impeller for the Johnson Talulah Ballast Pump is the Johnson Orange Ultra Ballast/Talulah Ballast Pump Impeller. We recommend changing the impeller every season for optimal performance of the pump.
NOTE: This pump is NOT a direct OEM replacement for Mastercraft, Yamaha, Nautique, Centurion, Supra or Moomba models that use the Jabsco AI Timer Module in their factory system. For help selecting a pump that is a direct replacement Please consult our product experts for your application.

I plumbed one to fill and drain two 400lbs bags in my rear lockers, this is my second pump first one blew up after one use, it has a one year factory warranty but trying to get ahold of the manufacture is a joke. Second pump works great, fills or drains both bags in about 10 minutes. Set up is super easy it only took a couple of hours. It is kind of loud but it's ok because the change in pitch is the only way to know when the bags are full or empty. I wired the pump to my factory Malibu switch panel to avoid running a dedicated wire to the battery, I found that I cannot run the factory pumps and this at the same time it keeps blowing the circuit breaker, I will be running a direct line to the battery as recommend by manufacture when I get the chance. As long as this one lasts I'm very happy with it.
Great replacement pump for the Jabco I fill up two tanks in the amount of time that the Jabco fills up the one I have two hard tanks in the back and 1 soft ballast bag in the front and it fills up a hard tank and the ballast bag in the same amount of time great pump I'm going to get two more
Replaced some built in aerator pumps in a 2004 SANTE with these. Replacing aerators with any reversibles creates a few problems in these boats. They are big so they are kind of a pain to locate a place to mount, we ended up mounting them to our rear seat. In order to control them with the built in switches, we had to wire them up using relays. Relays then can create a surge so then we applied diodes to the harnesses to absorb the surge.
The pumps are tremendous though. They self prime with no problems and suck the bag completely dry as long as they are seated properly. Timed the fill with boat running and sitting at the dock as 6 minutes and change for our #750's. Cycle time on my switches is 3:30 so there's a minute of overflowing.
The pumps are significantly loud and heavy. Its obvious when they turn on and off, but we also didn't mount them in a good spot for mitigating sound levels as we could have.
Overall very happy with the system now, the old one wouldn't fill without the boat moving, would drain on its own, wouldn't drain fully when trying to drain, and in general was unreliable. We had to open the hatches constantly to see what the state of the ballast was. Now we just hit the button and increase or decrease the weight wherever we want. We only did 2 pumps to start, but I'm inclined to trade the belly pumps now as well.
When considering voltage from a battery that's giving 14+ volts while the boat is running vs 12 when its sitting, and taking into account that wire length and gauge also has an effect on voltage, your mileage may vary depending on your install. But I have mine on a very short run of 12ga wire, and even pulling from a 3/4" thru hull (but still using 1" hose) one pump fills both of my 750# fly high sacs in 10 minutes flat. That's 150 gallons per minute.
Worth every penny, especially since I don't have to throw pumps over the side anymore! Also the guys at WakeMakers know their stuff and have been very helpful. If you're unsure of what you need just give them a call and they'll guide you through the whole thing.
