Bag Compatibility: This ballast pump is only compatible with Straight Line Sumo and Straight Line Big Bag ballast bags equipped with the LINK fitting. A gasket kit is supplied with the MAX pump to be cross compatible with these two series of Straight Line bags. But some residual water may leak out during the filling and draining process. For maximum performance you will need to upgrade to new Sumo Max ballast bags that are equipped with the Sumo Max LINK valve. Contact us if you have any questions about this.
* We are aware of a discrepancy between the rated volume and the rated weight this pump can produce. We are providing the numbers published by Straight Line for consistency. Based on our testing, the 200 pounds/minute fill rate is an accurate real world number.

Very powerful
Great pump but it needs radiator hose clamp with a flathead or Phillips head to tighten it snugly installed on the hose end and pump immediately I couldn’t get the pump to lock into the bags without the grip spinning and losing my leverage, it takes time for the new bags to seat the pump when you twist lock it so give it some patience, if you treat it well it works well, it might trip your cog lighter socket breaker while using it, the pump does have high draw since it moves a lot of water very fast, get 2, 2”-3” stainless radiator hose clamps and it works very well

Pump motor good but other fragile parts are issues
Similar to other reviews here, I have experienced the same problems. The hose tears constantly. Wakemakers were great and sent a new hose, but it was the same issue. After repeatedly trying to fix the we ended up retrofiting to a clear hose (not serrated) from home depot that works better. Also that little plastic piece in the inside center of the interface that depresses the bag valve and locks the pump to the bag filler, snapped after 3 years of use. I fixed it with a small screw to depress the bag. We also required a 12V extension cord to reach our back locker bags. Note that after 3 years the pump motor still runs 100% so that is a positive. If you take the mindset that this will last about 3-4 years then the product does what you would expect

Awesome Pump
This pump literally is a game changer. I have 2 850 pound and one 450 LbS sumo bags and with the kids I would have to choose surf days wisely because it took so much time to prep and empty. I can fill all 3 bags in 15 min now and empty in 20 min. Used to take me 30 min. Now I am able to surf more 👍👍

Sumo Max Flow pump is fast but…
This is my 2nd pump in 4 years. The first one had great flow volume and filled my 850 Sumo in a short amount of time. The only down side was the flimsy hose that comes with the pump. My hose tore repeatedly when new and and I kept cutting and re-clamping the hose back on to the pump to extend it use. I am very careful with my equipment, the hose was just lame. I ended up replacing the original hose with a piece of flexible PVC hose until the pump died. It’s a sealed unit so I had no way of diagnosing the cause of failure. I thought it should of lasted longer for the money and limited use. My replacement pump is the exact same pump and hose construction. I partly zip tied the electrical cable to the hose to try and strain relieve the hose with the cable. I guess I will see how long this one lasts.

Bad hose.
Quality not great. The hose split right where it is connected to the pump causing water to shoot everywhere and basically making the pump useless. Only used pump 5 or 6 times. Very disappointed. It worked great until the hose split
